Where Vess Green is sculpted and translucent, Nix Reach is the other face of the tektite world: glossy jet-black glass, frozen into clean aerodynamic shapes as it spun through the air still molten. Teardrops, dumbbells, buttons and discs — the splash-forms record the way a blob of molten glass deforms in flight before it hardens. They are only about 800,000 years old, the youngest major tektite event.
Our individuals are chosen for clean forms and good surface: smooth flight skin, shallow etch pitting, and a faint bottle-green glow where the glass runs thin at an edge. They sit beautifully in the hand and photograph well, the light sliding around the curves. No care beyond not dropping them.
